Travelling in Europe with Kids: Tips, Family Adventures, and Capturing Memories

We recently came back from spending a few weeks in Europe. It was not quite the trip we planned, but maybe exactly the one life had in store for us.
We couldn’t make it to our dear Venezuela for political reasons (happy to chat about that if you’re curious!). Since our trip was via Spain anyway, we decided to stay in Europe and move around a bit because… why not? The plan was always to be in London after Venezuela anyway, as I was working there in January.
Along the way, we spent time in Barcelona with my sister, brother in law and my 2 gorgeous nieces, in Madrid with friends, we also visited family in Prague, and enjoyed some slow, peaceful days in the Pyrenees.
Every moment was incredible — probably as it was meant to be!
One of the best things about this trip was enjoying quality time as a family and travelling with our boys at this age (9 & 11). They were curious, full of energy, excited to try new foods, and open to everything — from winding cobblestone streets to long walks and discovering new favourites. Watching them see new places through their eyes (the wonder in a giant cathedral, the delight in a tiny pastry!) reminded me just how magical travel can be.

Travelling with kids isn’t just about visiting new places, it’s about watching their minds and hearts open with every new sound, taste, language, and view! They learn resilience, adaptability (specially with a trip that we were planning along the way!), empathy, and confidence just by stepping out of their familiar world. Kids embrace changes with excitement, dive into new experiences with curiosity, and discover creativity and courage in the most unexpected moments.

And being back in London with the boys — showing them the places they lived until they were 3 and 5 — was so special. There’s something profound about revisiting familiar places and seeing them afresh through the lens of now. And of course, seeing old clients who still welcome me back for shoots every year reminded me once again — time really does fly.

This trip was a vivid reminder that even when plans change, life still leads us to beautiful experiences. And if there’s one lesson I want to share with you, it’s this: make memories now. Don’t wait.
Whether it’s a family session in your favourite park, a newborn shoot at home, or those little everyday moments that make you smile — don’t let time slip by unrecorded.
I absolutely loved taking my camera with me on this trip — capturing little snippets of joy, wonder, and discovery. Some of my favourite shots weren’t perfect or posed; they were candid moments of the boys exploring, laughing, or simply being present. These are the kinds of images that become treasures — not just for the wall, but for the heart.

📸 And yes — I have so much to share about the sessions I did in London while we were there! Stay tuned on the blog and social, because I’ll be sharing stories and photos from those shoots very soon.
So here’s the reminder I want to share with you: this is the year to make memories. Don’t wait any longer.
I’m here to help make it happen — whether it’s a family session, a newborn shoot, or capturing those little everyday moments you’ll treasure forever.
Let’s book your session this year and make it unforgettable.
With love,
Fabi x
