Maternity Sessions FAQ
when?
The best time for your maternity photos is usually between 30 and 36 weeks — your beautiful bump is nice and round, but you’re still (hopefully!) feeling comfortable enough to move around and enjoy the session. Of course, every pregnancy is different, so we’ll plan it for whenever you feel best.
For outdoor shoots, sunrise and sunset are my favourite times — that golden light is magic! If you’d prefer an in-home session, we have more flexibility and mid-morning usually works beautifully.
I shoot seven days a week, so we’ll find a time that suits you perfectly.
where?
You can either choose the location of your preference (like home or that special place that you love as a family) or I can send you a few suggestions. If you prefer a studio setup. let me know and I can organise this for you ($60 additional charge).
what to wear?
Professional photos don’t mean you have to wear matching outfits — I want you to feel relaxed and truly yourself! I’ll send you a wardrobe guide to help inspire your choices, but ultimately, please wear whatever makes you feel comfortable and confident.
For maternity sessions, flowing maxi dresses or gowns in soft pastels or bold colours beautifully highlight your bump. Fabrics like chiffon or jersey offer comfort and elegance.
And don’t hesitate to bring a second outfit that’s completely different — it’s a great way to add variety and capture different moods during your session!
